Fighting Poet ran a very pleasing second at Lingfield on Tuesday evening behind the well-handicapped favourite. Kaiya Fraser reported that he travelled well in his first time blinkers in mid division before challenging in the straight and out staying the rest of the field. Hopefully we will get a win out of him soon for the Richard Phillips Racing Syndicate.
We have entries next week on the flat and over jumps and look forward to the summer string continuing to run well.
Yesterday members of the Adlestrop Club visited Overbury Stud. Thanks to Simon Sweeting and his wonderful staff, the Club had a fascinating few hours viewing the stallions, mares and foals.
It was great to see Golden Horn, Jack Hobbs and Ardad parade with all three having recently made a great contribution to the British breeding industry.
We had a wander around the paddocks to see some beautifully bred flat and NH foals and youngstock and many thanks to all who made the visit possible.
Congratulations to both Daylesford and Hunscote Stud on the result of the Oaks last week. Soul Sister and Caernarfon both put up brilliant displays to finish first and third respectively. As previously stated, it is great to see local thoroughbred studs competing at the highest level and we look forward to their bloodlines going from strength to strength.
