Smudge is an eight-month-old Mauritian/cross-breed pup currently in foster in Kent, U.K. He was among the pups and their mum rescued under the Strays Of Belle Mare, East And West Coast Animal Welfare Project in Mauritius.
Smudge made his way to the U.K. in October, finding refuge at The Retreat Animal Rescue Farm Sanctuary and Cafe before transitioning to his foster home in December under the care of his wonderful foster mum, Karen Petrie.
Having undergone Karen’s magical touch, Smudge is now ready for his forever family.
This cuddle buddy, Smudge, maybe a bit reserved at first, but once he establishes trust, he transforms into a loving and loyal companion. His mum and two sisters have already found their homes, leaving it now to Smudge to find his own forever family.
Currently cohabiting with several other dogs, Smudge can fit well into a home with friendly resident dogs, given appropriate introductions. However, he hasn’t experienced living with children, making him more suitable for households with dog-savvy teenagers.
Smudge enjoys his walks and behaves well on a harness, though a bit of pulling may occur. Further training will be beneficial, as is expected for pups of his age.
He comes fully equipped with a microchip, rabies vaccination, and complete vaccination history, along with a snap dx4 blood test. All adoptions are supported by the FULL RESCUE BACK-UP from 4 Paws Rescue & Relocation International and Earth Dragons International Dog Sanctuary.
Prospective adopters should be in the Kent area, willing to invest time in getting to know Smudge and demonstrating their commitment through a few initial meetings to gain his trust. An adoption fee and home check are part of the process to ensure a suitable and caring environment for Smudge.
